Hall, Sr.
February 13, 1940 – June 20, 2023
UNION, WV --- Charles Richardson Hall, Sr., age 83 of Union, WV passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at his home. Born February 13, 1940 in Union, WV, he was the son of the late Earl C. and Rose Ann Bostic Hall.
Charles was a skilled mechanic and logger for many years. Earlier in life, he enjoyed coon hunting and going to drag races. He spent a lot of time outside tinkering with things and playing with his dog buddies, Rufus and Snow, What Charles loved the most though was his family. He always enjoyed having his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Hall, Jr., Ernest Hall, and James Hall; two sisters, Patricia Weikle and Ina Grubb. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 plus years, Elizabeth Ballard Hall; daughter, Ruth Smith of Alderson, daughter, Karen Windon (Billy) of Ronceverte, son, Charles Hall, Jr. (Connie) of Union, daughter, Sally Miller (David) of Lindside, brother, Robert Hall of Sinks Grove, sister-in-law, Kathleen Simpkins of Blacksburg, VA, grandchildren, Charles McCarty (Mandy), Christopher McCarty (Tasha), Travis Campbell (Megan), Tonya Waid (Junior), Samantha Tincher (Justin), Arianna Prater (Michael), Gabrielle Miller, Alison Miller, Benjamin Miller, Billie Walker (Alfred), and twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous step granddaughters, step grandsons, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV, with Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow in Ellison Cemetery at Rock Camp, WV. The family will receive friends Friday, June 23, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Those serving as pallbearers include Charles McCarty, Christopher McCarty, Travis Campbell, Benjamin Miller, Robert Waid, Jr., and Justin Tincher.
