GREENVILLE, WV – Bobby Gray Thomas, 80, of Greenville, WV, passed away on April 4, 2025. He was born December 2, 1944, in Greenville, WV, the youngest of six sons of William Perry and Vera Crosier Thomas.
Bobby was a 1962 graduate of Greenville High School. After graduation he enrolled in the Durham Institute of Barbering in Durham, North Carolina, receiving his degree in Barber Science in 1963. He was employed with the International Union of Operating Engineers for over 30 years. He was a Member of Greenville United Methodist Church and Monroe Lodge No 77 A.F. & A.M. Bobby loved God, his family and friends, golfing, operating heavy equipment, and the West Virginia Mountaineers. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to share, and a helping hand to give to anyone in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Glen Thomas; and Granddaughter, Megan Thomas.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Connie Wilfong Thomas; children, Tim Thomas and wife Sabine, Debbie Thomas, and Mike Thomas and wife Rose; nine grandchildren, Nicole Cox (Daniel), Elizabeth Wickline (Kenny), Molly Hoke (Joseph), John Thomas (Kelsey), Jacob Thomas (Abigail), Rebecca Thomas, Natalie Thomas, and Justin Thomas; nine great-grandchildren, Ande Sue, Judd, Porter, Cooper, Lydia, Brady, Kensley, Christian, and Walker; three brothers, Laymen Thomas (Laurie), Ralph Thomas (Gleda), and Herbert Thomas (Nancy); one sister, Betty Ruth Fleshman (Sam); and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with Masonic Rites conducted by Monroe Lodge #77 will follow at Mt. Hedding Cemetery in Lillydale, WV.
