Obituary

SECOND CREEK, WV --- Betty Mae Trent, age 93, of Second Creek, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at her residence. Born February 29, 1928 at Pickaway, WV, she was the daughter of the late Oscar B. and Cora Edith Burns Elmore. Betty was a loving and caring homemaker who loved her family and friends. She enjoyed her time reading, tending to her flowers, and singing. She loved the Lord and her church family and was a member of the Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church at Second Creek, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Trent. Betty was the last surviving sibling of her brothers and sisters. Additionally, she was preceded in death by five brothers, James, Teddy, Walter, Bernie, and Gordon Elmore; seven sisters, Loretta Elmore, Gaye Dalton, Mary Hedrick, Mattie Wykle, Danese Saunders, Deloris Boyce, and Rosie Wickline. Survivors include seven children, Ron Trent and wife Barbara of Second Creek, WV, Vicki Morgan and husband Gary of Frankford, WV, Gary Trent of Organ Cave, WV, Michael Trent of Second Creek, WV, Steve Trent of Second Creek, WV, Regina Thompson and husband Mark of Second Creek, WV, and John Trent and wife Debbie of PA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Nathan Phillips officiating. For those planning on attending the graveside service, please meet at the cemetery by 11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Jameson and staff, Home Care Plus, and Hospice for the wonderful care provided. Also the family would like to thank Jasper Trent and family for the food and help provided in this time.
