GREENVILLE, WV --- Betty Dixon Pence, age 92, of 7332 Greenville Road, Greenville, WV 24945, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 at her residence following a long illness, from Dementia and other illnesses. Born February 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Alice "Bunch" Dixon of Clarksburg, WV. Betty was a loving homemaker who loved and cared for her family dearly. She was of the Protestant Faith and had attended the Greenville Methodist Church and the Union Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon "Sherry" Pence; daughter-in-law, Connie Lynn Pence, and three brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 71 years, Otis Pence of Greenville, WV; one daughter, Pamela Tilley and husband Larry of Florida; two sons, Bill Pence of Greenville, WV, and Matthew Pence of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and special friends, Richard and Teresa Callison of Salem, VA. Betty was the last survivor of her immediate family. We are sure that she would have liked to thank all her family, friends, and caretakers for making the last few years of her life easier.
It was Betty's wishes not to have a visitation or funeral. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Greenville Methodist Church Cemetery in Greenville, WV with Elder Clark Perkins officiating. Those planning on attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in honor of Betty to the Greenville Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O.
