ALDERSON, WV --- Bertie Elizabeth Brooks, 85 of Alderson passed away Saturday morning, December 23, 2017 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born at Peterstown, WV August 5, 1932 a daughter of the late Conji Lee and Eva Evelyn Broyles Frazier of Peterstown.
Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker, a graduate of Peterstown High School and a mother who loved her children and made them her life.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Melvin Brooks, Sr.; 3 sons, Roger Lee Brooks, Roy "Pete" Melvin Brooks, Jr., and Bobby Brooks; 1 brothers and 4 sisters.
Surviving are 10 children, Randy Brooks and wife, Karen of Peterstown, Ricky Brooks of Alderson, Gail McFall and husband, Lowell, of Mt. Vernon, Robin Swiger and husband, John, of Mt. Vernon, Darlene Zimmerman and husband, Robert, of Alderson, Russell Brooks and wife, Lisa of Fairlea, Ruth Anna Lephew and husband, Richard, of Second Creek, Rodney Brooks and wife Anna of Organ Cave, Ralph Brooks and companion, Frankie Rheinscheld of Bluefield, WV, Eva Waid and husband, Rusty of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Bill Frazier and wife, Charlene of Union; a sister, Marshie Fraizer of Peterstown; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Rev. Joe Hendricks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Alderson, WV.
