UNION, WV--- Benny R. Wilson, age 76, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home following a long illness. Born October 31, 1938 in Monroe County, WV he was the son of the late Robert Luther and Mary Ratliff Wilson. Benny was a lifelong farmer and a retired owner of Wilson Farm Equipment in Union. He was currently serving on the Board of Directors with the Bank of Monroe. He was a member of the Monroe County Farm Bureau and the Monroe County Cattleman's Association. Benny was also affiliated with the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife Kathleen Wallace Wilson of Union, WV; three sons, Mike Wilson and wife Jackye of Union, WV, Mark Wilson and wife Jill of Stevensville, Montana, and Steve Wilson of Union, WV; three grandchildren, Lance, Jace, and Trevor Wilson; three brothers, Melvin Wilson and wife Gloria of Henderson, Nevada; Fredy Wilson and wife Betty of Greenville, WV, and Robert L. Wilson, Jr. and wife Debbie of Union, WV; two sisters, Marie Maynard and husband Bob of Daniels, WV and Joan Perkins and husband Lloyd of Union, WV.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Keenan, WV. Friends may call Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donald Parker, Art Bartenslager, Jim Fleshman, Mark Kilcollin, Bill Talbott, Tim Hoke, James King, Steve McNeer, Brian Humphreys, Vincent Wilson, C.C. Parker, and Carl Dunbar will serve as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers.
