UNION, WV --- Barbara Ann Burns Weikle, age 86, of Union, WV, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at Stonerise Lindside in Lindside, WV. Born November 22, 1934 in Monroe County, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby Nichols Burns. Barbara was a hard worker. She knew everyone and never met a stranger. She enjoyed helping people and her community. Barbara served on the Union Town Council for 24 years. She was a past member of the Monroe County Planning Commission. She and her brother-in-law, Marion Bradley started, owned, and operated the B & W IGA grocery store in Union. She also owned and operated the Kalico Restaurant in Union from 1984 to 1996. Barbara continued working at the Kalico for several years following the sell of the business. Barbara was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Union.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Weikle; infant son, Conrad Weikle; In-laws, Edgar and Laura Weikle; sisters, Willie Ratliff, Betty Bradley, and Lanelle Vandegrift; brother-in-laws, Freddy Davis, Roscoe Wilson, and Harold Ratliff; and a great-nephew, Sean Hinkle. Survivors include, one daughter, Kelly Campbell and husband Jerry of Union, WV; companion, Maynard Johnson of Ronceverte, WV; one brother, John Burns and wife Sherry of Sinks Grove, WV; two sisters, Lenore Wilson of Sinks Grove, WV, and Ella Sue Davis of Hollywood, WV; special friends, Sheila Kirby of Maryland, and Annie Perry Gefferies of Lewisburg, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Jim Rogers and Shirley Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Keenan, WV. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Family will serve as Pallbearers.
