RONCEVERTE, WV --- Annette Lynn Ellison-Dowdy, born 09/10/1974 in Beckley WV, passed away after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Tuesday Oct 18th at her home in Ronceverte WV surrounded by friends and family. Preceded in death by Her Grandmother Elsie May Akers (Nutter) her Mother Myrtle Louise Ramsey (Akers) and Father James Richard Ramsey a sister Flora Dianne Ramsey and nephew Tommy "Petey" Ramsey. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Aaron Andrew Dowdy (Ronceverte) her oldest son John Dillon Sean Syner and wife Nicole of White Sulpher Springs, foster Son Danny Small of Fairmont foster daughter Katelyn Renee Rose, son Jason Michael Paul Ellison of Charleston, foster daughter Kylee Lynn Rose and Jake of Montgomery, son Jarred Ashton Hunter Ellison and Bella of Ronceverte, stepdaughters Brianna Dowdy, and Carlee Dowdy, stepsons Ethan and Liam Dowdy. Grand children Kaitlyn Burns, Chloe Lawhorn, Kylie Lawhorn, Oakley James Coleman, Kameron Oates, Montana Jade Johnson, and Grayson Dean River Syner. Her biological father Douglas B Goolsby and wife Annis of Ansted. Brother Floyd (Jessie), and a brother James L Ramsey of Winona, Brothers Doug Goolsby of Williamson, Dennis Goolsby and Tony Goolsby and a sister Dawn Mumma. Along with lots of amazing friends the absolute best friends Teresa Peak of Wytheville, Amber Heater of Oakhill, and Tharen Lawson Price of Mount Hope. Numerous cousins and niece and nephews who she loved dearly. Her two doggies Zeus and Roxie, and her two cats Barnes and Noble. Plus, many many more friends and family too numerous to name. Annette attended Midland Trail High School where she had an amazing bunch of lifelong friends, she attended WVU and latter New River in the field of paramedicine. Working for Jan Care Ambulance in Fayette Co. where she also formed bonds with several brothers and sisters. A supervisor with Ibex Global in Beckley, store manager in training for ATT in Lewisburg WV and a care coordinator for Seneca Health. She was the mother to 10 wonderful children and loved and lived with all her heart. Due to unfortunate circumstances, she was unable to donate herself to cancer research. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held at Groves-Mann Funeral Home on Tuesday Evening Oct 25th. Visitation with friends and family will start at 6pm and the service will begin at 7pm.
