Obituary

UNION, WV --- Anita Gaye Phillips, but most famous name that she took most pride in was "Aunt Nino".

Our dear sister Anita gained her heavenly wings on 6/6/2022.  She is now in the loving arms of her most precious Savior "Jesus Christ". She died from a short illness of pancreatic cancer.  A sudden death it was, for she was flying high to meet Jesus in the sky to take her home to be with him for an eternity.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Dempsey Phillips, mother, Lilly Mae Jones Phillips, stepmother, Betty Phillips, nephew, Jamey Phillips, and niece, Brianna Allen. Survivors include, her sisters, Sue Shields and husband Earl, Sherry Allen and husband Rick, Christina "Cricket" Phillips, Janet Lane "Candy" and husband Jerry, Lana Lester, Jackie Winebrimmer and husband Gary; nieces and nephews, Teresa Hatfield, Leah Hill, Heather McCall, Charles Price, Jr. "CJ", Eric Price, Kara Lester, Hunter Justus, Shawn McMillion, and Connor McMillion; Nino's special angels here on earth were two precious girls, Pixie Dream Bailey and Luvenia Moon Allen.

Anita loved God and her family dearly. And, she always had a very special love for her nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. They loved her dearly too. She spent many days of her life fishing on a creek bank with her hero "dad" and continued her love for fishing even after he passed.  Always came back with stringer full of fish and a big smile on her face.

She had no children of her own but got to be a mom to many of her nieces and nephews that she spoiled rotten. She was famous to always give you words of advice and wisdom.  And, had a sarcastic sense of humor that could for sure make you laugh at some point. Her heart was beautiful and always willing to give or help someone.

Oh, dear sister you will never be forgotten, and will always be missed and loved. You will always hold a special place in our hearts that will always remind us that you are still here with us.

One of the Magnificent Seven Phillips girls she was and will always be!

Save us all a place dear sister. We will all be reunited soon. You were and will always be loved dearly.

In keeping with Anita's wishes, she will be cremated and the family will have a private memorial at a later date.
