SINKS GROVE, WV – Alvin Eugene "Al" Crawford, of Sinks Grove, passed away April 2, 2025, after a long illness.

Al was born April 17, 1939, in Cool Ridge, West Virginia, to Roy L. Crawford and the former Sarah Louella Myrtle Meadows.

Al was raised on the family farm in Cool Ridge.  He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1959. He lived in Toledo, Ohio prior to moving to Sinks Grove in 1987.  Al was a retired big rig truck and tour bus driver.  He worked at The Greenbrier in motor services for many years, during this time he was the official driver for the Bluegrass Connection.  Over the past several years he also worked in the lawn and garden department and as a greeter at Walmart.

Al is survived by his wife, Delores.

Son Alvin E. Crawford Jr. of Ohio and Dalton Hunter of Sinks Grove.

Step daughter Lisa White and step sons Jeff Coffman and David Coffman of Genoa, Ohio, Jim Hunter and Paul Hunter of Sinks Grove, and Steve Hunter of Lynchburg, VA.

Grandchildren Jessica, Joe, Sarah, Stephanie, Andy, Jennifer, Paul, Dalton, Ronnie, Adam, James, Rachel and Elisabeth.

Great-grandchildren Lily, Cooper, Teddy, Phoenix, Remi, Tyndale, Tewon, Tiana, Tempyss, Savannah, Aidan, Levi, Zander, Daniel, Ricky, Mark, George, Violette, Davey, and Colter.

Great-great-grandchildren Kye'Cion and Kay'Omi.

Al was predeceased by his parents, brothers Raymond and Jimmie of West Virginia, and Roy of Alaska, sister Guernie Crawford Harvey of West Virginia, and daughter Judy of Ohio.

Al desired no service be held. His cremation was handled by Groves Funeral Home in Union. In lieu of cards or other displays of condolence, please make a donation to the Disabled American Veteran, other military support organization, or the charity of your choice.
