UNION, WV – Allie Marie Pitzer, age 87, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, WV following a short illness. Born August 2, 1927 at Creamery, WV she was the daughter of the late Oather W. and Mary Sue Holland Ford. Mrs. Pitzer was a loving and caring homemaker and a member of the Union Church of God in Union. She was a devoted Christian and was loved by all the children in Union.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fredrick Pitzer, Sr.; three sons, Gary, David, and Larry Pitzer; three brothers, Paul, Frank, and James Ford; three sisters, Evelyn Pitzer, Ida Louise Massey, and Emma Lee Smith; and one grandson, Chris Pitzer.
Survivors include, three sons, Robert Pitzer and wife Debbie of Gap Mills, WV, Herman Pitzer and wife Tammy of Frankford, WV, and Jimmy Pitzer and wife Deloris of Gap Mills, WV; three daughters, Susan Mines of Union, WV, Rose Pitzer of Princeton, WV, and Ruth Lewis and husband Brian of Union, WV; one brother, Lawrence Ford of North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Union Church of God at Union, WV with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Keaton Cemetery, Greenville, WV. Sons and Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may call Monday, May 4, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home in Union, WV and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the Church.
