WILLOW BEND, WV --- Alfred "Al" Falls Moore, age 74, of Willow Bend, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his residence. Born March 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Marcus L. Sr. and Eva Mae Falls Moore. Al graduated Wheaton High School in Wheaton Maryland. Following high school he volunteered to join the U.S. Army. He served his country proudly in the Vietnam era, where he was in the First Cavs and the Mack-V special unit. Following his military career, he attended and graduated from the Maryland Institute Art School earning a B.A. in Art Education. He furthered his education by earning his Masters in Fine Art History from Marshall University. Al worked for the Department of Justice and taught art education at the Women's Prison in Alderson, WV. He was a great history buff, avid gardener, and he loved his family greatly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Alfred Moore. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Gloria Jean Moore of Willow Bend, WV; one daughter, Alison Moore Broyles and husband Paul of Willow Bend, WV; three brothers, Mark Moore and wife Leslie of Clearwater, FL, Dr. Tom Moore and wife Carol of McCall, Idaho, and Dr. Edwin Moore of Florida; two sisters, Carolyn Moore Gregg of Hagerstown, MD and Gale and Dr. Ron Turco of W. Lafayette, Indiana; six grandchildren, Alexandria Moore, Georgia Moore, Beau Broyles, Dreyk Broyles, Aiden Alfred Broyles, and Lily Jean Broyles. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Paul Broyles officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Keenan, WV, where the West Virginia Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors.
