SECOND CREEK, WV --- Alfred Lewis "Butch" Porterfied, age 65, of Second Creek, WV passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, WV following a long illness. Born May 15, 1951 at Marfrance, WV he was the son of the late Harry and Clara Durham Porterfield. Mr. Porterfield was a retired maintenance worker from B. F. Goodrich in Union, WV. He attended the Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church at Second Creek, WV.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Deborah Marie Sturdivant Porterfield; four brothers, Jim, Claude, Fred, and Wilbur Porterfield; two sisters, Mona Porterfield Honaker and Polly Porterfield Jones. Survivors include his companion, Rita Richmond of Second Creek, WV; one son, James L. Porterfield of Pickaway, WV; two daughters, Jennifer Anderson and husband Edgar of Bluefield, WV and Samantha Porterfield of Union, WV. Granddaughters, Meredith and Regan Anderson, Breauna and Kaleigh Porterfield, and Maddyn McCray.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24. 2016 at the Carlisle Cemetery at Hollywood, WV with Rev. Marva Smearman and Shirley Glover officiating.
