Obituary

UNION, WV – Aimee Elise Baker, age 15, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer. She finished this part of her adventure with courage, grace, and an undimmed light from her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born July 1, 2009, she is the daughter of Todd and Korie Baker, of Union, WV.

Aimee lived her life well, faithfully following the course that was set before her. She loved Jesus, her family, her church, her doctors and nurses, her pets, her chickens…Aimee just loved.  She enjoyed traveling places, meeting people and showing them the love of Christ with an infectious smile, a warm hug, and a charming wit.

Aimee was homeschooled from K4 to 10th grade.  She loved science, biology, and botany. Aimee's quick sense of humor was a great addition to her art skills.  Aimee's self-designed characters have always been a source of joy for those she loved. She was a member of Mt. Prospect Baptist Church in Union, WV.

One of Aimee's most cherished honors was when the local Union Volunteer Fire Department bestowed on her the title of forever member of their department. She had an official battle-worn firefighter's helmet that they gifted her, always hanging in her view. She loved her fire department family.

Aimee is survived by her parents, Todd and Korie Baker, her brother Aaron Baker and his wife Hope Savasta-Baker of Huntington, WV, her sister Abigail Baker of Union, WV, and her brother and best friend Ean Baker of Union, WV.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 2:00pm. A private burial service attended by family will follow. It was Aimee's request that those able to attend the services wear bright colors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the WVU Children's Hospital at give.wvu.edu and choose for your support to go to "Cancer Treatment for Children in Children's Hospital" in the dropdown menu.
